88.1 kt of primary magnesium were produced in Yunlin Shaanxi during January and February 2022, down by 11.3% y-o-y. According to local Yulin authorities, a total of 513 kt of primary magnesium was produced in 2021, down by 8.6% y-o-y.
Domestic magnesium prices remained stable last week, seeing transactions mainly driven by fixed demand with mainstream magnesium transaction prices stable at RMB 40,000/t. Domestic smelters were keen to prop prices, while downstream demand appeared weak.
