Professor John Grandfield

Professor John Grandfield is Professor at Swinburne University of Technology in the High Temperature Processing Group. John has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgy (RMIT), a MSc in Mathematical Modelling (Monash) and a PhD in Materials Science (University of Queensland).

John has 30 years experience in light metals research and technology including smelting, continuous casting and metal refining (Rio Tinto Alcan, CASTcrc and CSIRO). He has conducted plant benchmarking audits, technology reviews, optimised existing technology, managed technology transfer and developed and commercialised new light metals technologies.

Martin is an experienced international marketing, sales & business development executive with more than 25 years experience. Engaged in a variety of management tasks in different industries on a global level, polyolefins, non-ferrous metals (magnesium in particular) and chemicals. Beyond corporate engagement, he is representing various industries in European and international Trade & Business Associations. Martin is also a registered Expert for the European Commission.

Martin has a PhD in economics and social science from the Kepler University Linz in Austria and a technical degree from a Higher Technical Institute in Vienna.

Andrew is an experienced Strategy & Development Executive, a Chartered Secretary (GradDipACG FGIA FCIS), Corporate Lawyer; Market Analyst, Strategy & Development Executive with more than 30 years’ experience in the minerals and financial commodities industry. He has worked in senior management roles for major aluminium industry and base / non-ferrous producers. Positions held have been in the mining / commodities division of major resource companies and in financial and banking institutions.
