Yulin Coal Technology suspended magnesium production in late January amid coal gas supply shortages. It remained idle during most of February and restarted operations late in the month.
Designed with 10 ktpy capacity, the company produced 7.2 kt of magnesium ingot in 2021, 600 tonnes in January, was idle in February and intends to produce 600 tonnes of magnesium ingot in March 2022.
Mainstream magnesium prices sit at RMB 41,000~41,500/t (ex-work by cash), down by RMB 1,500/t from last Thursday.
