Local villagers of Goutang have complained about dust and noise pollution caused by the Guojiamen bauxite mine of Henan Xinmi Coal Co., Ltd. The villagers reported that the company failed to comply with required mining processes and have caused massive dust and noise pollution during mining.
Since formally submitting the complaint to the authorities of Goutang town, Xinmi City and the local environment bureau, little or no action has been taken. Disappointed by the response, locals have persuaded the media to follow up on the matter.
