Xinfeng Huarun APT smelter in Jiangxi, designed with 5 ktpy of APT (88.5% min grade) capacity, resumed operations this week after completion of environmental checks.

The company halted operations in mid-April under pressure of environmental checks, curbing its April output to less than 200 tonnes. The company mainly serves long-term contracts and currently holds no stock.

Xinfeng Huarun produced 3 kt of APT in 2020, 300 t in March and 600 t in Q1 2021.

Mainstream APT prices (88.5% min) are currently holding firm at RMB146,000~148,000/t ex-works in cash, remaining stable m-o-m. Given strong concentrate prices, industry insiders forecast domestic APT prices will continue stable next week.
