Yabo magnesium smelter in Fugu, Yulin suspended operations on 14th June to carry out a week of maintenance. The company expects 1.4 kt of magnesium ingot production in June 2022, a decrease of 400 t m-o-m from 1.8 kt in May. Designed with 23 ktpy of magnesium smelting capacity, the company produced 21.5 kt of magnesium in 2021 and 9.5 kt in the year to date.
Wanxin magnesium smelter started maintenance on its rotary kiln on 8th June, and work is scheduled to last for three weeks. Consequently, the company expects 1 kt of magnesium production in June, down from 1.8 kt in May. Designed with 25 ktpy of magnesium smelting capacity, the company produced 21 kt of magnesium in 2021 and 9 kt in the year to date.
The domestic magnesium market remains flat with steady prices this week after a large number of transactions were concluded last week. Mainstream magnesium prices are at RMB 26,000~26,500/t in Shaanxi, keeping stable w-o-w.
