30th July: Xiaoyi Tianyuan Chemical, with alumina capacity of 400 ktpy, intends to start bauxite production in August this year.
A source from the company says they have a bauxite mine located about 65 kilometers from their alumina refiner, covering an area of 0.68 square kilometers. The company has a reserve of 10 mln t and a designed annual capacity of 1 mtpy.
Tianyuan Chemical, with annual bauxite consumption capacity of 1 mln t, consumed 70 kt in July. They currently hold about two months of inventory and will cut bauxite purchases starting next month.
At present, mainstream prices of bauxite (A/S ratio 5.0) are standing at RMB 475/t VAT excluded delivered.
