TBEA (Tebian Electric Apparatus) announced that the company will invest a total of USD 730 mln in the construction of a 148 km railway connecting the Santou bauxite mining area to Cape Verga port. The project is scheduled for completion in 24 months.

TBEA has been granted mining rights to a bauxite deposit in Santou county, Télimélé prefecture, Boke region, Guinea. The rights are valid for 25 years but can be extended many times with a 10-year extension each time. TBEA will be designed with 30 mtpy bauxite mining capacity per annum.

Construction of the railway is part of TBEA’s phase I projects, once completed, the company will commence phase II, involving a 4 mtpy alumina refinery and associated thermal power plants.
