NBS: China produced 8.96 kt (in tin metal) of tin ore and concentrates in December 2020, up by 24.3% m-o-m but down 4.2% y-o-y. China produced 94.5 kt (in tin metal) of tin ore and concentrates in 2020, up by 10.4% y-o-y. SMM forecast tin ore and concentrate production to increase in IM during 2021.
China Customs data showed 158 kt of tin ore imports (raw ore) in 2020, converting to 39.5 kt of tin in metal by an average grade of 25%.
According to these figures, domestic supply accounted for 70% of total supply, with imports representing 30% of the total.
