Ningxia Ningchuang New Materials Co. Ltd., designed with 300 ktpy primary aluminium capacity comprising 280 x 400 kA cells, began maintenance on 18 electrolytic cells in late March, involving capacity of 19 ktpy.
The company is currently operating 170 sets of 400 kA cells with total capacity of 180 ktpy. The company suspended 100 ktpy of production in Q3 2019, and produced 270 kt of primary aluminium in the year. During the first three months of 2020, the company’s total output reached 50 kt.
Mainstream primary aluminium ingot prices at Shanghai warehouses were RMB11,640/t this Tuesday, up by RMB40/t from Monday.
