15 July: MNR (Ministry of Natural Resources) and MIIT(Ministry of Industrial and Information Technology) has published the overall rare earth and tungsten mining quotas for 2020. In 2020, the government will continue to focus on control of rare earths and tungsten mining volumes.

The 2020 rare earth (REO) production quota is 140,000 t, including 120,850 t quota for rock-type (light) rare earths and a quota of 19,150 t for ion-absorbed rare earths. The quota for tungsten concentrate (WO3 65%) production quotas is 105,000 t in 2020, including a 78,150 t mining quota and a 26,850 t comprehensive utilization quota.
