October 22: Luoyang lifted its severe air pollution level from ‘Orange’ (Level II) to ‘Red’ (Level I), with the date of alert alleviation and cancelation yet to be determined.
During the red alert period, Luoyang will impose both mandatory and non-mandatory emission reduction measures in related industries. There are 15 industries in which emission reduction is graded by actual performance including iron and steel, coking, alumina, primary aluminum, and carbon. These industries must implement the emission reduction measures in strict accordance with the ‘Red’ alert requirements.
