10th August: The first nickel laterite shipment for Linyi Yichen Nickel and Chromium Alloy Co. Ltd. arrived at Rizhao Port, Shandong. Yichen’s 500 ktpy NPI project uses imported nickel laterite for NPI production via the RKEF process. The demand for nickel laterite is 5 mtpy per annum at present which will grow to more than 10 mln t after the project is fully operational.
