31st December 2019: A total of 3.8 mln t of bauxite was imported via Lianyungang Port in 2019, surging by 280% y-o-y from 2018. Boosted by strong demand from Henan refineries, total bauxite imports through the port are expected to increase to 5 mln t in 2020.

Bauxite imports to Lianyungang Port were 1 mln t in December, 73% of which were from Guinea with the remaining 23% from Indonesia. In comparison, all November bauxite imports (amounting to 160 kt) were from Indonesia. Bauxite shipments arriving at Lianyungang Port are mainly for use of Henan refineries, with three major users at present; Wanji, Chalco Henan and Kaiman.

Lianyungang Port has seven large berths to accommodate 150kt~300kt level vessels and 20 small berths to accommodate 150kt level vessels. Total port charges at Lianyungang Port are RMB24/t.
