Huale NPI smelter in Lianyungang Jiangsu, mainly produces high-NPI (10% Ni minimum grade). The company suspended NPI production for maintenance in late January 2021 and plans to restart in March 2021.
Designed with NPI smelting capacity of 540 ktpy, the company mainly uses Philippine nickel laterite for NPI smelting. It produced 480 kt of NPI in 2020, holding stable y-o-y. Its January 2021 production was 40 kt, and the company currently holds no stock.
Mainstream NPI prices (10% Ni minimum grade) stood at RMB 1,105~1,125/MTU, stable from last Friday.
