Heung Kong Wanji, (Henan), designed with 550 ktpy primary aluminium capacity, resumed 60 ktpy primary aluminum capacity in late May and is set to reach full capacity operation by end-June.

The company has suspended 10% of its total primary aluminum capacity since November 2019 due to the winter production cut policy (November 2019~March 2020). But the company did not resume operations immediately in March due to a bleak market.

Heung Kong Wanji produced 43 kt of primary aluminium in May and its June output is expected to rise. The company produced 520 kt of primary aluminium in 2019 and currently holds no stock.

Mainstream aluminium ingot prices were RMB13,450~13,550/t on Thursday, up by RMB130/t from Wednesday.
