Guizhou Galuminium under the Galuminium Group (GAL) completed construction of its second 800 ktpy alumina production line end-2019, but does not plan to bring it online until Q3 2020 in view of the current weak market. In the wake of several new primary aluminium projects coming online in Q3 2020, the demand for alumina may rebound accordingly.
The company produced 600 kt of alumina in 2019 and its first 800 ktpy alumina production line is operational.
The mainstream alumina transaction price in Guizhou is RMB2,420~2,470/t ex-work at present, the same as early this week.
