15th Aug: Guangxi Xinfa, with aluminium capacity of 320 ktpy began resuming production with 40 ktpy capacity early this week.
According to a company source, the 40 ktpy aluminium production line with 50 sets of 240 kA electrolytic cells was suspended due to an accident in mid-June. Maintenance is now complete and they expect to resume full production in mid-September.
Guangxi Xinfa produced 260 kt of primary aluminium last year and 300 kt is planed in 2019, with 178 kt to date this year.
On Wednesday, mainstream transaction prices of aluminium ingots were standing at RMB 14,110-14,210/t in Guangzhou, RMB 70/t less from Tuesday.
