Guangxi Baise Mining Group has five primary aluminium smelters designed with a total of 1.3 mtpy capacity, of which 770 ktpy is presently operational.

The company began carrying out maintenance at three smelters last month, involving a total of 35 ktpy capacity and reducing daily output buy 100 t. Upon completion of maintenance, Baise Mining plans to gradually resume the idled 35 ktpy capacity over the following 90 days.

The company is set to increase its primary aluminium capacity by 300 kt in H2 2020. They produced 700 kt of primary aluminium in 2019, 65 kt in May 2020 and June output is expected to rise slightly. The company currently holds no stocks.

Mainstream aluminium ingot prices stood at RMB13,340~13,440/t in Guangzhou warehouses this Wednesday, down by RMB60/t from Tuesday.
