Fushun Aluminium started its 350 ktpy Phase II carbon anode project in September, having begun construction in April 2019. No tangible output is expected from Phase II in October and full capacity operation is not expected until early 2020.

Designed with total 530 ktpy carbon anode capacity, Fushun Aluminium produced 15 kt of carbon anode in October the same level as last month. The 2019 annual output is expected at 180 kt with 400 kt output expected for 2020.

The majority of the carbon anode it produced will be sold to Chalco’s primary aluminium smelter in IM. It holds no stock.

Mainstream carbon anode prices are RMB 3,250~3,300/t delivered at present, and are expected to hold steady next week.
