Domestic magnesium prices trended down slightly last week under pressure from slower logistics and weaker demand. As of 15th April, mainstream magnesium transaction prices in Fugu Shaanxi dropped by RMB 3,000/t to RMB 36,000~36,500/t in a week, with prices in other magnesium producing regions falling as well.
Many downstream processers in the Yangzi River delta curbed operations amid increasing COVID cases in Shanghai, and this, in conjunction with traffic restrictions, is exerting extra pressures on magnesium prices.
