CNIA: China produced 544.8 kt of primary magnesium during the first eight months of 2019, up 10.6% on-year. Of this figure, primary magnesium output was 330.6 kt in Shaanxi, up 16.87%; Shanxi 79.8 kt, up 29.04% and Ningxia 29.7 kt, down 43.79% on-year.

Domestic primary magnesium prices averaged RMB 15,312/t in September, down 13.49% on-year. As of end-September, mainstream magnesium prices were being quoted at RMB 15,200~15,300/t in Shanxi, RMB 15,000~15,100/t in Ningxia and RMB 15,000~15,100/t in Shaanxi.

The domestic FeSi market remained stable in September. With tightening domestic supply and easing of liquidity problems at some smelters, FeSi prices are holding firm with a bullish outlook in the short term.
