China produced 32.4 kt of NPI in January 2022, down by 2.4% m-o-m and down by 16.09% y-o-y. The decline can be attributed to reduced operations of Shandong NPI smelters under environmental pressures and falling demand from integrated stainless steel mills prior to the Chinese New Year holiday.
