Boyuan smelter, part of the Bosai Group, completed maintenance on 46 sets of its electrolytic cells in mid-January 2020 and is now operating 151 sets of cells.
Bosai Group owns three primary aluminium smelters in Sichuan: Aba, Meishan Bomei and Guangyuan Boyuan, with total aluminium capacity of 450 ktpy. Current electricity prices applicable to aluminium smelters in Sichuan are typically RMB0.31/kWh or less, a relatively low level in China.
